Well, I recieved a very nice email yesterday telling me that while my piece was very good, they had such a large amount of submissions that they regretted to inform me mine hadn’t been chosen. They also kindly suggested other places that accept micro fiction.
I’m disappointed to be sure, but I’m still very proud of myself for doing it! So I’m on to working on Twisted Myth, and then probably some more short stories.
Congrats on your first real test of the waters.
Rejections are never something to be ashamed of or upset about.
“Real” writers understand that it is an inevitable part of the process.
That you took the time to write your best… that you had the nerve to send it in… and that you are man enough to accept the results…
…makes you one of those “Real” writers. Congrats, Andrew, on a very important first step.
Now, it’s just a matter of moving forward and growing from it.
